I am researching the family lines of Erick Erickson Boe, John Hauske Osmundson, Alex Bell, and Richard Todd, all of Mower, MN. At present, I seem to have most of the relatives within Mower Co. accounted for, so would like to volunteer my services to look for folks who may be buried at the Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery, Adams Twp., Mower Co. or the Marshall Lutheran Cemetery, Clayton Twp., Mower Co. Due to health issues (and upcoming high school graduations), it may take me awhile, but I will try to find what I can. The records for the two parishes begin about 1871-1874 although the parishes are somewhat older. As in many cases, the records prior to that time burned when the original church was destroyed.

My wife, Janet, was born in Mower County, MN. Her parents are still residents there. Her paternal ancestral names are Steinbach, Finsterbusch, Fellwock, Lehman, Wollenburg, Wutchke, Wuertz (Würtz), Stahl. Her maternal ancestral names are Beckman, Kuehn, Boelk (Bölk), Wresch. For those of you doing research in Mower County you might want to look into Dodge County, Wisconsin. I have seen a number of names appear in both places. Anyway, feel free to contact me if any of the above names show up in your family. Peace..... .....Daryl

Jerry, I checked with my niece who lives just a few miles from Sargeant. One phone company in that area is Citizen phone. There are no businesses in the town that now use the Sargeant name. One lead you might want to follow is to contact the Austin Daily Herald. Until recently, they had a columnist named Pat Sargeant. Of course, there may be no connection, but if she was somehow connected, I think you might find some of her writing interesting. Also, Sargeant in located in the Hayfield School district. If there are any old school records or memorabilia, that would be the place to look. The Mower County Historical Society is located at the Mower County Fairgrounds in Austin. They may have some items that might help you. Their address is: Mower County Historical Society P.O.Box 804 Austin, Mn 55912 Telephone:(507)437-6082 E-mail: [email protected] I hope that some of this information helps. What a wonderful idea for a baby gift. Congratulations and good luck.
