George Prahl was born 3-26-1918 at LeSueur and he married Frances Ann Schrepel on 3-8-1941. She was born 8-29-1918 at Red Lake Falls, MN. They live(d?) in LeSueur and had at least two children, Allan ("Al") and Leslie ("Les"), probably more since you and I are discussing this at all! ; ) Al was born 7-31-1943 at Wadena and is single, and Les was born 3-5-1947 at St.Peter. He married Julie Mary Barnd, born 1-10-1947, on 2-3-1973. She was born in Cedar Rapids, IA. They now live in Maplewood. Their children are Annalisa Prahl, 9-1-1973, and Nicholas James Prahl, 10-14-1977. Both were born in St. Paul. Les, Julie and Al often attend the Prahl family reunion each year. Al is quite into genealogy, too. The location shifts a little every year, but the core location is the Clinton Prahl farm west of LeSueur. In fact, I just saw Les and Julie at the reunion a couple weeks ago! George's sister Dorothy was born 6-30-1914 and died 9-4-1964. She's buried at Mound Cemetery in LeSueur. Herman Ludwig Karl(?) Prahl was born 7-5-1881 in LeSueur County. He married Emma Schoell, who was born 4-6-1885 in Scott County. She died 12-13-19___, and Herman died 3-21-1961. They are buried at Mound Cemetery in LeSueur. Herman and his siblings were the children of Herman(n) Ludwig Leopold Prahl and either Wilhelmine Ebert (his first wife) or Dorothea Franke (his second). Hermann Prahl was born 8-28-1840 in Zozen(?) province, Pommerania, Germany. He came to the US in 1866 and settled in Milwaukee, WI. He married Wilhelmine there around 1867-68 and they stayed there together only briefly before moving to Minnesota. (Clinton Prahl's farm that I mentioned earlier was Hermann's homestead). They had three children: Karl August "Otto" (my great-grandfather, born 10-1-1868 at St. Peter), Frederick "August" 8-19-1870, and Alvina 4-26-1876. Wilhelmine died in 1879. Hermann remarried to Dorothea in 1880. "Dora" was born 12-21-1849 at Angern, Saxony, Germany. She came to the US in 1873 or 1874. I believe she had her oldest daughter, Anna Dorothea Sophia, before she came to America with someone other than Hermann, due to the fact one of Anna's grandsons, Larry Wheat, says she was born March 14, 1872, somewhere in Germany. Probably a case of two widow(er)s getting together for the sake of the children, but they stayed married until Hermann died in 1925. Besides Hermann's three kids and Anna (Annie), they had a few more together: Herman, Charles 9-15-1883, Bernhard Friedrich (Barney) 10-13-1885, Elsie Amanda Emma 1-30-1889, and Amanda 5-28-1891. Dorothea died 1-1-1933 and Hermann died 5-12-1925. Hermann and Dorothea are buried together and Wilhelmine about 50 feet from them at Trinity Lutheran Church (and Cemetery) in rural Gaylord. There are Prahls who still attend there, including Clinton's family. I have plenty more information and pictures if you would like.
