He and his family and Mrs. Matt Doherty left Thursday morning to attend the services, which were conducted from the Chapel at the Soldiers Home where she had been for the past month. Deceased was born in Le Sueur, March 5, 1870 and was but fifty-nine years of age at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Cantwell, and spent her girlhood and received her education here. For some time before her marriage she was a member of the faculty at the Washington School. She was married June 14, 1905 to Fred Kennan of Winthrop, where they resided for a few years before moving to St. James where they lived until Mr. Keenan, who was a Spanish American War Veteran entered the Old Soldier's Home , and where she remained until ill health made it imperative that she enter the hospital about a month ago. Two children were born to them, a daughter, Catherine, Mrs. Al. Zender of Tracy, and a son Ed. Keenan of St. James. Mrs. Keenan devoted much of her time to her home, but found time for outside interests. She leaves to mourn a large circle of friends besides those who are bereaved, her husband, the two children and three brothers, Frank of Texas and Joe of Le Sueur and Sam of California.
