I'm wondering if anyone knows of any Civil War soldiers buried in Le Sueur Co., MN? I know of one that is related to me. That is Adelhardt Roemhildt. Full name is: Friedmann ADELHARDT Roemhildt, b. 6 October 1826 Bohlen, Schwarzburg, Schwarzburg-Rudolfstadt, Thuringen, d. 25 April 1896 Elysian Township, Le Sueur Co., MN. He married Friederike "Rika" Koeppen (1835-1920). Adelhardt Roemhildt served in the Civil War for the Union Side. A Grand Army of the Republic marker stands at his grave in the German Lake Cemetery. According to Eugene Roemhildt, he served in over 50 battles as a stretcher bearer. His farm or homeplace was located about a half mile south of Roemhildt Lake in Elysian Township, Le Sueur Co., Minnesota, near his brothers Traugott and Berthold. --Glenn Gohr [email protected]
