To Joan Smith. I haven't forgotten you. I have been all thru my Bode's but cannot make a connection. However, I'll bet if we could get back just one more generation, we'd get a match. My great-aunt, Anna Maria Henrietta Muller was b. 2 Aug 1853 in McLean Twnshp, Shelby, Ohio. She marr. 23 May 1873(Prob. in St. Peter or LeSueur, Minn) Reinhold Frederick Bode, who was b. in Hanover, Germany. The wife went by "Mary", and I have her genealogy but not Reinhold's. The first 10 of their children were born in LeSueur, L.S., Minn. The last 2 were born in Niagara, N.Dakota. I have names, dates and who married if that would help. I think they eventually settled in Larimore, N.Dak.--on a farm. For many years I corresponded with a Mrs. Myrtle Wells---a descendant. Eventually I got no reply so concluded she had been moved to a nursing home or deceased. Her sister was Mabel-(also of Larimore). I'm sorry that I was mistaken about the California story. Two of Mary's sisters, Rose Miller Felton and Sophie Miller McGaffey and their husbands and families moved first to N.Dak. and then early in the new century, to California--where they lived out their lives. So far as I know, Mary lived the rest of her life on the farm in N.Dak. I don't know where you live, but we're on an island in W. Wash. where the days have been close to 60 degrees and the nights in the 40's. N.Dak and Minn sound brutally cold to me in the winter! My predecessors were made of alot tougher stuff than me! I'd love to know if you can make a connection. Dorothie
