    1. [MNLESUEU] POL-TRZCIANKA e-mail list on Rootsweb
    2. Glenn Gohr
    3. Dear Family Researchers: Rootsweb has been starting up regional/locality/town lists worldwide, as well as surname lists. I am descended from the Quiram family who originated in Prussia and immigrated to places in Illinois and to Le Sueur Co., Minnesota. The main town of origin for almost every Quiram/Quiram descendant that I have made contact with seems to be Schonlanke (now Trzcianka, Poland). This town is located in Kreis Czarnikau, Posen, Prussia, not far from Pila and a town called Quiram/Chwiram. There are others of you researching in Schonlanke/Trzcianka as well, and most of the German Lutheran families there intermarried and immigrated to the U.S. together, etc. So we can learn something from other families who came from this same locality. We also maybe can find out more about where church and civil records from the area might be located, etc. For all these reasons, I have started a list for anyone interested in genealogy research in the town of Schonlank/Trzcianka, Poland. It is called the POL-TRZCIANKA e-mail list. You can subscribe to this list in mail mode by sending a message to: POL-TRZCIANKA [email protected] that contains the word subscribe and nothing else in the body of the message. If you prefer digest mode, you should send the command instead to [email protected] and the word subscribe and nothing else in the body of the message. To post messages to everyone on both POL-TRZCIANKA-L and POL-TRZCIANKA-D, messages should be sent to [email protected] Messages sent there will appear both places. If you have information on research or families in towns located in close proximity to Schonlanke/Trzcianka, that information would be appreciated as well. If you have any further questions about the new list, feel free to contact me privately at: [email protected] Glenn Gohr (QUIRAM, KWIRAM, KWIRANT, and POL-TRZCIANKA List Manager) [email protected] ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237

    1. [MNLESUEU] Andersonville Civil War POW site
    2. Kevin Frye
    3. Hello veterans and newbies of the rootsweb. There are some really great folks who are willing to help just for the asking. I, myself do Volunteer research at Andersonville Civil War Prison in Andersonville Georgia. There are Any research I do is absolutely at NO cost and I am willing to do what I can. There are 259 prisoners on record from the state of Minnesota and more than 100 who died here, I thought I would send my offer. I feel the need to say I am not in anyway trying to focus on the horrors of Andersonville compared to any POW camp in the north ..( i.e.Elmira ) or any others and do not wish to stir up arguments on this site. My focus is dedicated to ALL of those held prisoner during this war , on both sides as well as all Americans who gave their freedoms for those that we enjoy today.. I just happen to be near Andersonville so this is where I do my work Here are my sources of research. There are 2 online databases to do lookups.....One by name...one by Company and Regiment. I also have a copy of the Dorence Atwater Death list which has the names and grave numbers of 12960 graves with only 460 marked as " UNKNOWN " This along with a CD I have which contains 34,000 names of the 45,000 who were imprisoned there which helps me find prisoner records because of misspellings of the names or alternate names. I visit the prison site every couple of weeks and have access to the onsite databases as well as the physical files. I would like to let you know of another service I offer which is to take photos of graves for a small fee. Please do not consider this spam as my research offer is FREE for the asking and will be posted on this county site only once. If there is anything I can do in helping your research at Andersonville, please just ask. Please visit my website dedicated to those Americans who were imprisoned and died in captivity while in the service to our country Kevn Frye Local Andersonville Historian / National Park Service Volunteer http://www.angelfire.com/ga2/Andersonvilleprison/index.html AOL USERS go to http://hometown.aol.com/andersonvillecw/

    1. [MNLESUEU] GRANDFATHER HALL
    2. Hello, Is there someone who would please help me find my grandfather, CHARLES OTIS HALL. He was born in Southern MN, city unknown. Born on JULY,22,1883. Parents unknown. The earliest age I am able to find him is 16 years old working on a farm in DANVILLE, MN for GEORGE WALKER. As per 1900 census. He maried my GRANDMOTHER, BERTHA SPLETT about 1907. They had five children; GLADYS, JUANITA (PEG), ELTON (PAT) KENNETH & DONALD. Donald died in 1918 of poisoning from a chemical named "PARIS-GREEN", he was about four years old. CHARLES OTIS HALL sometimes used his middle name for a first name. He lived & worked in the MAPLETON, MANKATO area as a laborer & bartender. He worked for his father-in -law, CARL SPLETT a THE MAPLETON HOUSE, also THE AMORT FAMILY at their bar & hotel until about 1928 when he & BERTHA divorced. he moved to ST.PAUL, MN. where he died on APRIL 13, 1929. During 1910 or 1915 he & BERTHA lived on FRONT ST. in MANKATO. My GRANDFATHER, CHARLES is buried in ST.PAUL, MN in a unmarked grave at FOREST LAWN CEMETERY. I have wondered if the "accidental death of his son, DONALD had anything to do with he & BERTHA divorcing and the uncared for grave. On DONALD'S death certificate under cause of death it reads intestional bleeding, accidental??. I hope someone will take the time to just point me in the right direction. The HALL name comes up alot in the area's of LEXINGTON, MINNESOTA LAKE. GARDEN CITY plus all over the counties in the tri-county area. Please contact me if you have any information. I live in ST.PAUL so I could search for information at the Minnesota History Center for a trade-off. Thank you, Judy(Hall) Sorenson [email protected]

    2. Dan Garrison
    3. I am seeking information on some graves in LeSueur County, Minnesota. I have been told that there are some Hunsakers buried in Mound Cemetery in LeSueur. I am particularly interested in these names: Elijah Hunsaker Ursula (Betsy) Hunsaker Vesta (I presume last name Hunsaker as I was told she died at a young age) I have found 2 of Elijah Hunsaker's brothers in the 1860 census of Prairies Twp., Nicollette County; however, I haven't been able to find a record of Elijah Hunsaker, their brother. Does anyone on this list have cemetery records for Mound Cemetery and would be willing to do a check for me? This is the first time I have done genealogical searching in Minnesota and do not know resources available. Thank you. Marilyn Cossler Garrison
