Surnames: Hibben Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wIB.2ACI/325 Message Board Post: I know this sounds absurd but my mother, Susan Hibben, recently died and always told me that as a little girl she was taken from her mother in Minneapolis, who had recently (then) come over from Slovakia. A social worker for the city talked her mother into letting her go work for a farmer and his wife in Kandiyohi for a few weeks. According to mom, she was not allowed to go home, and only after a couple years there, she was helped home by some concerned neighbors. I don't know how much of this she had right but something happened and it has haunted me for decades as to what really happened and how it could. Was there a detention home for young people there then or some program for young people? Please help....
