Holtkamp March 31, 1914 - March 11, 2002 COKATO - Fred William Holtkamp, 87 of New London, formerly of Dassel-Cokato, died Monday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. His Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Elim Mission Church in Cokato with the Rev. Walter Glueklich officiating. Burial will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and one hour prior to services at the church. He was born on March 31, 1914, in Raymond to George and Elizabeth (Hahn) Holtkamp. He grew up on a family farm near Raymond where he attended country school. On Aug 17, 1940, he married Janet Lay in Pipestone. He was a construction worker, and they lived in various places including Idaho, Utah, North Dakota and South Dakota. From 1947 to 1966, they farmed near Kerkhoven. He retired in 1978. They lived in Cokato and Rockford and in 1987 they moved to Dassel. In April 2001, they moved to New London where they have lived since. He is survived by his wife; daughter Sharon (and Dave) Ferch of Loretto; sons Earl (and Lyn) Holtkamp of Wahoo, Neb., James (and Brenda) Holtkamp of New London; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister Emma Erickson of Raymond.
