Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wIB.2ACI/253 Message Board Post: There is a sign toward the middle of "Willow Section" (toward the west side of Fairview Cemetery, Kandiyohi County, Willmar, Minnesota) that says the following: "The Gravel Train Wreck of 1882 On June 24, 1882, 13 men were killed in a train wreck between Willmar and Atwater. A gravel train with 50 men left the Willmar yards, heading for Grove City. The train left the tracks and crashed two miles west of Atwater. Some of the bodies, unclaimed by relatives, were buried here in a brief ceremony. Those killed George Floody, Willmar John Dahl, Willmar Hans Peterson, Willmar Andrew Johnson, Lake Elizabeth John Schneider, St. Paul Ole Kios, Renville County Mathias Johnson, Sunburg Syvert Thompson, Minneapolis Rasmus Rasmusson, Lake Lillian John Peterson, Minneapolis Sjur Syverson, Dovre Jens Waage, Dovre John Holland, St. Paul"
