    1. Passenger Lists/Anker Lines/Ole and Ellen Johannesson Rindahl
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wIB.2ACI/221 Message Board Post: Ole was, I believe, my great grandfather. His son, Ole, Jr., my mother's father. Ole had six children, three born in Trondheim and three born in Kandiyohi County. The dates between births in NO and MN are 1867-1870. I have the old trunk, with decorative painting and with Ole's name painted as spelled above, along with the date, 1854. It appears to be painted over another name and date that I cannot discern. On the back of the trunk are the "No 3 til St Claud, Minnesota North America, Anker Line New York. I had assumed that 1854 was the date the family came over. There is limited information about Anker/Anchor Line, but supposedly it wasn't established until 1865. If anyone can offer information or documents about this family, passenger lists, marriage, location in MN prior to locating in Kandiyohi, etc., I would love to hear from you. I have an original deed signed by Ole Johanesson and Ellen Johanesson (diff spelling), selling property in Kandiyohi Cty (signed in Polk County, registered in Kandiyohi?)to Ole Rindahl, dated April 12, 1897. Assuming again that Ole held the original land grant (probably 1875), this is the farm where my mother was born and raised. Another family member has the original land grant certificate, signed by US Grant and which my mother kept for many years before sending it to the family that now owns the farm. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am presently scanning photos from old albums and hope to post them on a web page later. There are many without identities. but do have some of Ole's children. Also some unidentified which were taken in Trondheim/Trondhjem.

    3. I have an obituary for a Mrs. Charles Lindberg of the Willmar/Svea areas that was in a great great aunts scrapbook as a dear friend of somebody she knew. There is no reason for me to hang on to the obituary (actually, it's two obituaries for the same person) but I don't feel it's right to throw it away without trying to locate a relative of hers who might what it. Mrs. Charles Lindberg's maiden name was Ingrid Olson, b. February 21, 1862 in Glimakra Socken, Kristianstad Län, Sweden to Olaf Olsson and Betsy Persdotter. She and her hubby farmed in the Svea area and later moved to Willmar. Children were: Ellen, Mrs. Harry Holm, and Amy, Mrs. Edmund Backlund, Lilly, Mrs. Rueben Lund of Grove City, and Agnes, Mrs. Olaf Fagerlie of Sacred Heart. A daughter, Ida, preceded her parents in death. Any takers? Cathie

    3. Hello veterans and newbies of the rootsweb. There are some really great folks who are willing to help just for the asking. I, myself do Volunteer research at Andersonville Civil War Prison in Andersonville Georgia. There are Any research I do is absolutely at NO cost and I am willing to do what I can. There are 259 prisoners on record from the state of Minnesota and more than 100 who died here, I thought I would send my offer. I feel the need to say I am not in anyway trying to focus on the horrors of Andersonville compared to any POW camp in the north ..( i.e.Elmira ) or any others and do not wish to stir up arguments on this site. My focus is dedicated to ALL of those held prisoner during this war , on both sides as well as all Americans who gave their freedoms for those that we enjoy today.. I just happen to be near Andersonville so this is where I do my work Here are my sources of research. There are 2 online databases to do lookups.....One by name...one by Company and Regiment. I also have a copy of the Dorence Atwater Death list which has the names and grave numbers of 12960 graves with only 460 marked as " UNKNOWN " This along with a CD I have which contains 34,000 names of the 45,000 who were imprisoned there which helps me find prisoner records because of misspellings of the names or alternate names. I visit the prison site every couple of weeks and have access to the onsite databases as well as the physical files. I would like to let you know of another service I offer which is to take photos of graves for a small fee. Please do not consider this spam as my research offer is FREE for the asking and will be posted on this county site only once. If there is anything I can do in helping your research at Andersonville, please just ask. 3. OK .. OK .. Enough already Apparently what was meant to be helpful has been turned into a "hate mail" campaign by certain "list owners" .... as the two quoted below indicate I do not tolerate being "talked down to", or being roasted for what should have been seen as an attempt to INFORM .... Maybe the entire email shouldn't have been sent .. but it WAS End of story as far as I'm concerned ...... do what you will Ciao .. Sayonara ... It is because you have been a longtime list admin that I hold you to a higher standard than I would someone who might not know better. Until you sent this spam message to everyone they didn't NEED to be aware of it. And the RootsWeb abuse address doesn't need to be mailbombed by tons of spam copies because you decide everyone should send it there. It is only because YOU sent the spam that everyone received it. [email protected] only needs to see ONE copy of spam being addressed to our lists even if there is a spam message they need to see. Only the list admins need know about this as it only affects admins . ....... snip ........ Also, on lists you do not admin it isn't your place to be handling matters that are administrative in nature. The MEIER list is for MEIER genealogy--not for Nigerian scams and how to handle them. The same holds true for every other list you sent the scam letter to--those lists are genealogy lists--not scam lists and the admins of those lists won't appreciate your action any more than I do. > dick wrote: > > SPAM: -------------------- Start SpamAssassin results ---------------------- > > SPAM: This mail is probably spam.
