His Daughter Anna Olsen married Christopher Julius Ellingson son of Elling and Sigrid Ellingson. Her death certificate states she was born in Norway September 1, 1869 and her father was Martin Olsen also of Norway. I know for sure the Ellingson's lived in Willmar for most of their lives the move to Farwell sometime during or after the depression. I'm also looking for information on Elling (Ole) and Sigrid (Sarah) Ellingson. Sarah's death certificate states she is from Hardanger Norway. Her daughter Rachel Hillstrom's death certificate states her mothers maiden name was Sigrud Christofer from Qualness Norway. Any information would be extremely helpful as I live in Washington state and can't get to Minnesota. Thank you in advance Tracy Critchfield

If able to find please email me at [email protected] as the information is not exactly pleasant and would rather not have it posted on the web!! Also if able to look up a marriage certificate for Benjamin F Shamp and Gladys J Ellingson sometime late 1920-1922, were almost positive it is in Kandiyohi county. Tora and Sara Lindlund lived in Willmar, where they had two children, Albert and Jennie. Albert married Mari Eide abt 1901. Mari immigrated to the US from Norway on 3-10-1901. (possibly an arranged marriage, due to the time frame of the birth of their first child). In the 1880 US Census Tora and Sara (madien name unknown), stated that they were both born in Norway, and the children were born in Minnesota. Any info on Tora and Sara's immigration, their births, their parents, any info on Albert and Mari's marriage, and any info on Jennie and what happened to her would be greatly appreicated. Hi, I am looking for information about my great grandfather. Here are the facts that I have verified: He married Augusta Erickson (daughter of Syver and Leva Erickson, immigrated as a family in 1874 from Norway) about 1890. From my grandfather's birth certificate the following - in April 1905 he was listed as a 38 year old Norwegian born in Minnesota. He was a farmer (homesteaded eventually in Beltrami County around 1903) and a lot of the time worked off the farm (logger, etc). He was very knowledgable about livestock. His wife and son listed their religion as Seventh Day Adventists on documents in 1907 and 1918. Working backwards I believe he was born around 1866 or 67 (38 years before 1905). I have found a listing for a Martin Thompson in the 1880 census as a 14 year old working on the Johnson farm as a laborer in Lake Lillian, Kandiyohi County. This is relatively close to where his future wife lived with her father. Following is a copy of the 1880 census page I have referred to: Digitalarkivet: Norwegians living in Minnesota according to 1880 C.
