If you do, could you please send it to my email directly at [email protected] I would appreciate it very much.. I had been writing to her and now her email has changed and my computer crashed about a year ago and I had lost hers and now found it some genealogy records but it is not current and my correspondence came back to me.. Thank you for writing this for the record and have a good day.. thanks, angela Angela, I have no idea what you are talking about without the reference to what I helped Marianne Derlick with. I help many each day and do not remember them all. Margit

Surnames: Dokken/Dacken Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wIB.2ACI/323 Message Board Post: I am trying to solve a mystery. My great-great grandmother is Jennie Dokken, born in 1871, in Kandiyohi County, of Norwegian parents. She married Andrew Weiss -in about 1892. Nobody in the family can remember her parents names or any of her siblings, and I found her birth and wedding date on a 1900 census, after she was already married. I live in Massachusetts now. I have located an 1880 census for a Dokken (Dacken) family which lists a daughter named Gina Andrine, brn 1871, in Kandiyohi County. This *could* be her, because all of the names in this census seem to be a little off, but I really would like to find an 1890 local census, and I am hoping I find this family to have a Jennie Dokken. National Archives do not carry the 1890 census, due to a fire, but I would imagine local records would still exist. If anybody out there has a Kandiyohi County 1890 census listing for the Mads C. Dokken (or Dacken) family from Norway, or if they can find anything about a girl named Jennie Docken -or if you may be related to and/or know anything about the Dokken families from this area, I would love to hear from you. They are possibly buried, I have found out from my mother's uncle, in the Greenlake Cemetery, because a family member named George drowned there. I am not certain if George was Jennie's child or brother, but I believe he was her child. Andrew and Jennie lived in Kandiyohi County for the first few years of married life, before moving to Ohio, and then back again to Kandiyohi County, I believe. After that, they moved around a lot.

There is one Knud Knudson. Looking also under the S's for a form of Solie/Sjolie in that cemetery, also, nothing remotely close. Looking under the A's for Aslaksdotter or a form thereof, there are 5 Aslakson's; amongst them is a Thora but no Gunvor. Here are the other four Aslakson's: Anders, Sarah, Sigri and Siri. Believe it or not, the surname Vinge/Vinje, or any variation of it, does not appear in the Vinje cemetery (as of c.1981). How sure are you that they are buried in that cemetery? How sure are you that those both or either of those ladies married Knut Knutson/Knutsen?

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wIB.2ACI/318.1 Message Board Post: Look at US census. 1890 census records were destroyed in a fire. 1900 census has this family, as follows: Erick, Ingeborg and son, John, in Lake Elizabeth Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. Page 119A. John and Christin Selin, son Edwin, John's mother, Julia, and John Selin's brother-in-law, John, are listed in town of Willmar, Kandiyohi Co., MN. John appears to be listed twice, but it is different dates so that is possible. In 1910, Erick, "Engeborg", and son John, are listed in Lake Elizabeth Township, Kand., MN. I haven't searched thoroughly for any of the others, as I was just curious about whether they were in the census. I hope this helps. If you search Ancestry.com, you may find the daughters by searching on their first names. Be sure to try alternate spellings, as spelling varied a great deal. I hope this helps.
