    3. I have been reading about the Massacre at West Lake in 1862 and have a distant relationship to the Lundborgs. I read that they were having yearly gatherings to remember those Brobergs and Lundborgs who died at that time. I found a newspaper clipping from 1980 when they had a program. Does this group still meet? I am sending this to Swift County also since the Broberg house was in Swift County. Helene Leaf

I heard the church in Roseland finances the farms in the area. The church is huge for such a tiny town. I would not be surprised if they took in some orphans back in those days. You should join the local historical society (at least for one year) and take time off to do some heavy research. Maybe even do some interviews at retirement homes. Someone should still remember work farms.

I am confused on what info you are having problems finding. The 1880 census is on John Taggart's family and it appears that William Taggart lived with them and most likely a brother.
