I have the Centennial Book 1871-1971 for St. John Lutheran Church, Harrison Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. In the history of St. John there are pictures of the orginal signers of the Constitution. One of those photos is of a William Maier and he appears to be wearing a civil war uniform in the photo. There is a Wilhelm Maier who was buried in St. John cemetery in 1891. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There were three females born in Kandiyohi County on that date. One of them, Susan Flynn, her certificate looked a little different than any others of that whole year. Plus, her birth certificate was not filed with the county until almost a month after the birth, where all others are filed within 3-5 days. I'm thinking it was filed after the adoption took place and Flynn was her adoptive parents, let me know, I have written down the parents that were listed on this birth certificate. I looked at your people-of-interest list and found no other matches. I doubled check the digital photo on Anna Mielke and the dates I gave above come out clear. There are about 80 buried there and they are in the west central part. You got good dates for obits from Raymond News. I could not find any obits in Montevideo, MN newspapers. I will keep you in mind when I do the two cemeteries in Raymond. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I would think Heritage Searchers in Willmar, Minnesota would jump on this. They help you/you help them type of deal. Go to www.anywho.com enter Carlson for the last name and MN for Minnesota. Atwater is a small town (about 1000 people). I would pick a husband/wife listing. Send them a well written letter and if Sara and Johan are not on their tree if can they ask other Carlson's in the Atwater area. There is a Carlsson bio here. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/mn/kandiyohi/kandiyoh.html >From Sweden, extensive but no hits for Sara. Or maybe a better way is writing to the churches. And how I listed them is Bethlehem Lutheran Church 312 Main St N Atwater, MN 56209 Immanuel Lutheran Church 408 7th St N Atwater, MN 56209 St John Lutheran Church 19903 56th Ave NE Atwater, MN 56209 And some have websites so try the free email approach first. www.blcatwater.com www.immanuelatwater.com I am sure the congregations would love to hear from someone back in Sweden. Info on them is over half way down on this page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnkandiy/resource.htm And the next link says they have county wide cemetery index. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnkandiy/Cemeteries.htm And an address for the Raymond News is here http://www.mnnews.com/newspapers/raymond.html I saw the death cert on Augusta Mielke. It says she died in Lone Tree Township, Chippewa County, MN. It says she is buried at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Raymond, MN (bottom right corner). It does not say that Trinity Lutheran Cemetery is in Lone Tree Township. I had to go to Willmar for some business. It was raining too much on the way to Willmar but on the way back it was not that bad. I checked out the cemetery on the Willmar side of Raymond. MN and found Rosina Mielke, 1911-1971, Mother William H Mielke, 1889-1969, Father They were about five markers from the east entrance. I started walking in circles around them about 40 feet across finding nothing else when the rain picked up. I will need to travel to Willmar again around mid April. Now what cemetery was it? I ran it past this next link. http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnispublic/f?p=135:1:10644999597037206509 Why they have numbers like that is beyond me. On this government site, it will reload the page after you pick the state then it will reload the page after you pick the county then under "Feature Class" you select "cemetery". Interesting, the USGS data shows a Trinity Lutheran Cemetery about 2 miles north of Raymond on the Kandiyohi/Chippewa border. Well, I will drive by that area in mid April on the way to Willmar. The cemetery on the east side of Raymond, MN is Fairview Cemetery where Rosina and William Mielke were laid to rest. I knew I drove down that road looking for that church in SW corner of Section 1 Lone Tree Township. I attached a satelite image. It is hiding behind a farm woods. Notice the path coming off the gravel road to the north. Surrounded by evergreen trees leading to a box of evergreen trees and you can see the markers in rows. Click on the attached picture. Now I know why I missed it. I have to check on other queries. See ya in mid April. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Bonnie, Did Rev. Thore Jacobs have a son Johannes/John Jacobs who was a doctor in Willmar? If so, he delivered most of my relatives in my generation. I was doing a bit of research to see you the other children might have been and came across that information. Nancy F.H.

Just the two .jpg files there now, about 700K each. Thanks for the Raymond newspaper hint.. since they started in 1902, they hopefully will have obituaries for the 1909 and 1924 deaths i'm interested in. Was Inger Hodnefjeld related to either Wm. or Carl? I believe they were involved in the Hauge movement. They knew my grandpa and his brother. Which church did Rev. Knutson serve at, I might be able to find a bit more information in some of the books I have in my house. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2007 3:00 PM Subject: Re: [MNKANDIY] Green Lake Cemetery > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: haskinsb_1 > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.minnesota.counties.kandiyohi/696.2.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for my great-grandparents.
