The place they went to each winter was Tarpon Springs, Florida. It's across the bay from Tampa, on the west coast. Tarpon Springs had its biggest moment of fame when the movie "Beyond the 12 Mile Reef" was filmed on location there. I seem to recall that the star was Troy Donahue. The movie glamorized the main local industry, which was sponge fishing. I'm not sure if A&M owned the house they went to each year or if they rented it. It was right across the road from the water, and Al kept traps in the water for crabs, because they were crazy about them. (So was everybody who visited them!) Both A&M were very gregarious; Minnie had this wonderful, loud, exuberant laugh, while Al was a little more soft-spoken.
