I recently acquired an obit that was printed in the "Itasca County Independent" in August 1904. It states that my ancestor had been a resident of "the village" and the service was held from St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Does anyone know what town this refers to? I believe he had been a resident of Grand Rapids, MN but doubt that would be considered "the village". Any assistance would be appreciated. Jeanne K In rainy California
St. Josephs Catholic church is in Grand Rapids, 613 North West 1st. Ave. 326-2843 In 1904 Grand Rapids probably was a villliage. It still is by no way a city. Just a nice iron range town. In the summer full of tourists so the population then does increase. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeanne Kalkwarf" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, December 07, 2005 5:03 PM Subject: [MNITASCA] Itasca County locaton > > I recently acquired an obit that was printed in the "Itasca County > Independent" in August 1904.
