He was in Itasca County in the mid-1880s (prob.about 1885/86). He was working at a logging camp or sawmill as in a letter he described logging chains and sleds. He was born in Wheeling, WV in 1855 to David R and Angeline (Wishart) Boring. His wife, Mary Focht Boring, died in Clearfield County, PA in December 1884. Grandpa Frank left his 3 children with family to raise as he was headed to the Alaska Gold fields. His family last heard from him when he was working in Itasca County. Town unknown..
