    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Brousseau, Auger Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZGB.2ACE/315 Message Board Post: I have been told that some family members were born in Mesabi, Minnesota during 1902-1904. I can't find any indication that this was the name of a town. Was there ever a town with this name? I've heard of the Mesabi Range, but I'm not sure where exactly that is. What county would this be in? Thanks for your help, Sheila

    3. Another site you might want to visit is : http://nmin.ardc.org/counties/stlouis.asp There is a map of St Louis County and names all the towns in St Louis County. The Iron world site is a very good site. There were a number of towns on the Mesabi Range that are no more. The same "towns" actually moved as the mine grew in size. The towns were located on the rims of the mines, so the houses were actually moved to keep up with the mine. A number of those towns are gone now. Have fun searching.
