    1. [MNITASCA] Re: Itasca County world war 1 soldier John Perone - Flanders Field
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZGB.2ACE/333.1 Message Board Post: Patrick, It appear John might be the son of Dom Peroni who in 1910 lived in Eveleth (St Louis county) MInnesota with his sons, Joe age 24, John age 18, and Paul age 13. Dom is a widower. Dom says he arrived from Italy in 1899 and is naturalized, the rest of the family came from Italy in 1903 and were not citizens yet according to the 1910 census. Also John was working as a laborer at the iron mines. It appears at least Paul stayed in the area as he is in the 1920 census (unmarried) working as a laborer at the mines. There is a Joseph listed as well but the immigration year is hard to read. John Perone is listed at the War Memorial in Chisholm Minnesota. http://www.vets-hall.org/ I hope this helps your search.
