I found this information on the 1870 Federal Census for Indiana, Marion Co. Indianapolis, Ward 6; page 7. His wife was Caroline age 24 born in ILL. My great grandmother name was Caroline Putman and I am tring to find her. The children were; Mary age 4 born in ILL. Irish (not sure of spelling) age 6 born in ILL, and Caroline age 7 months born in Indiana. The family must have moved to Indiana between 1864 and 1869.
