Forwarded by list administrator since I know many Northern Minnesota families have eastern Ontario origins. Good Hunting -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [MINNESOTA] Northeaster Ontario Canada Gravemarker Gallery Resent-Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 06:34:28 -0600 Resent-From: [email protected] Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 08:33:33 -0400 From: "Murray Pletsch" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Greetings Family Researchers: My apologies to my fellow Listowner if he/she deems this message to be off-topic. When one considers the number of Canadians and Americans who migrated over the past number of years between the two countries I am sure you would agree this message falls into the acceptable range. The free-access Northeastern Ontario Canada Gravemarker Gallery website (link is below signature) has attracted a lot of attention in Canada and for Americans who are subscribed to Canadian Rootsweb mailing lists. This site is ongoing and contains over 45,000 photographs af ALL gravemarkers in ALL cemeteries in Parry Sound and Nipissing Districts [County equivalents]which covers a large area in Northeastern Ontario. Currently, I am working on Renfrew County and Sudbury District and when complete the site will constitute a huge coverage of the inhabited lands in Northeastern Ontario and will continue to be a valuable resource for genealogists. Please visit the site and pass on the URL to any "transplanted Canadians" you may know, whose ancestors came from this area of Canada. Good luck........................Murray Pletsch Northeastern Ontario Canada Gravemarker Gallery http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~murrayp

Hi everyone Does anyone know if a child born after the death of his father would be listed in his probate records? I have a 1840's birth of a child, a few months after his father accidentally was killed. The older children are listed in probate records, as is their mother. There is no mention of the youngest child.... Should I be looking at the child as possibly not being the deceased man's child? No birth record exists and the records showing the parents names are marriage, military pension and death. Any ideas?? Thanks Anna
Dear List members Soon it will be autumn and many of us will be headed back to do more research. I would like to devote the next two weeks on the list to helping each other with our research dilemmas. Your research problem does not have to be related to northern Minnesota. It could just be "What does apoplexy mean on a death record?" or "How do I type those special letters in other languages?" or "Where can I find probate records in Rhode Island?". Between all of us on the list, we may have the answer to your question, (or at least know where to look). So if you have some question you have been afraid to ask or have never gotten an answer to, just try it now. We have a great group of researchers from many parts of the world. Together we can help each other learn. Thanks! Anna Claxton List Administrator
