    1. [MNITASCA] Minnesota Family Group Sheets
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZGB.2ACE/321 Message Board Post: I'm happy to announce a new project, the Minnesota Family Group Sheet (FGS) project. It's my privilege to be managing it, and I hope to be very busy adding family group sheets submitted by all of you. The URL for the page is http://www.rootsweb.com/~usfgs/minnesota/ I think you'll find the page easy to read and use, but if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. The USFGS home page, http://www.rootsweb.com/~usfgs/ links to all the states that have a family group project. I hope you'll take advantage of this new project. Those of us who have been working to bring it to Minnesota are very excited about its possibilities. Any family group that lived in Minnesota, even for a short time, can be posted. THE ONLY MINNESOTA PERSON WHO CANNOT BE POSTED ARE THOSE WHO ARE LIVING. Each family group sheet provides space for basic information about father, mother, and children; so if you only know about one family unit, you know enough to put the information up. If you know more, you can add more family group sheets: the father's parents and siblings, the mother's parents and siblings, the children's spouses and children, and on and on. If you've traced the family on into Wisconson, Iowa, and the Dakotas, you can post your group sheet in those states as well as Minnesota. But just one family sheet in one state can be enough to make new and exciting connections. We've prepared the pages and forms, added search engines and links, and now it's in your hands. Send in your family group sheets. One a day, ten a day, one a week, whatever works for you. Tell your fellow researchers about the site. Talk about it at your next genealogical society meeting. Mention it in your emails. The more people hear about the site, the more contributions we're likely to get; and the more contributions we receive, the more valuable the project is going to be in helping you make family connections. I'll be waiting for your family to turn up in my mailbox!

John Mike has been a source of our family mystery ever since he seemed to have dissappeared. I am fortunate enough to have the only known picture of him, but I don't have a scanner yet so I can't post it. I appreciate you finding grandpa Earl on the census. I think it is very interesting that he was not there with Clarissa. I have always thought that he may have been with John Mike or something. I found Earl in the 1930 census, and it said that his dad was from Romania but spoke German. After John Mike left Clarissa married in 1912 to Emil Tuenge, and he was German. So do you think that John would have been in Bovey in 1910 or 1943? I wish there was a way to find out. Thanks again for your reponse. Dena

It has on the cenus that she was 17 married 2 years and 1 child; yet, oddly the child is not listed. Then on the 1920 cenus Earl Mike is listed with his grandparents, Thomas and Amanda Wooster and he is listed as 9 years old which then makes one think he was born in 1911 where as the 1910 census lists him as already existing by the fact that Clarissa is listed as having a child. I wonder if your John Mike might be the one listed on the 1910 census, age 24, divorced, from Austria living in Hennepin county, Minnesota. He came to the US in 1906. But that would make his birth year 1886.
