Is there someone in Itasca County that could find an obit and death cert for me? I recently found my ancestor's death date in an online index after years of searching. The obit and death cert is for a LOUIS HETU, date of death was 8/14/1904 in Itasca County. No city was mentioned in the index. He was born in 1839. The source shown for this information is "Itasca County Independent Obituaries". I am unfamiliar with this source. I would be very grateful if someone could do this lookup. I am more than happy to reimburse any expense involved. Thank you in advance, Jeanne K (In California)
Hi My father's gt. uncle was Rev. Charles SWINDELLS b.1892 Stockport, England. In 1915 he emigrated to US and married Myra Miller in 1917. I believe they settled in Minnesota and had several children. Charles died in Itasca in 1993. I would love to get in touch with anyone who knows the family or the family itself. Sylvia Robinson nee Smith from Hyde, England.

His Signe, Yes I sure did know the Mattson's. I have to tell you a funny story....As you know, the twins, Elbert and Elmer did not look alike at all. We (kids) could not figure out why not. Well, we heard they were born __?? minutes apart (can't remember figure anymore). So, to us, we figured that explained it!! Out of the mouth of babes! Gayle I enjoyed your note; perhaps we've talked about this before. Did you know the Mattson's in Effie? Bertha, Seth and kids Lorna, Elbert and Elmer? My cousins. Bergit and her sister belonged to our church in Effie, and they came up and visited every summer. They were also members of the "old timers" club. Much of what the books are about are family and friends. I have been looking for a copy. Grandpa had a copy, but I don't know where it ended up. I'm sure a relative got it. Thanks, Gayle

I am the daughter of Meinich and Esther Evensen, both of whom have passed away. I have been in the process for a couple of years of trying to document the times of my parents when they were homesteading back in 1909. I am putting together for my children and grandchildren articles and pictures that reflect the times and the frontier conditions in the Bigfork area in the times of my parents. My uncle Ole Evensen was a good friend of Bergit Anderson and spoke of her often. Your book would be a great treasure toward compiling precious pictures and information that I need. I would be more than happy to buy it from you. My name is Joyce Zima. 763-576-0783 3854 123rd Ave. NW Coon Rapids, MN 55433 E-mail: [email protected]

This Cameron family was headed by John and Annie Cameron. They had ten children. The Camerons appear on the 1881 Canadian census in Bexley, Victoria North, Ontario. You should be able to find it. Five of the children moved to Minnesota. I don't have a line on the others. I have a database on the Rootsweb site: Cameron-McEachern Family Tree. It contains everything I know. The page is: http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=bedykes. Or just type in "Cameron" and "McEachern" as key words and you should be able to find it. Sidney's line is extinct. He had a son who was killed in an accident and a daughter who never married. So maybe you can take a look and see if you are connected to any of these Camerons. Barry

He died at Grand Rapids, MN, 6 Apr 1917, and is buried at Wawina, MN. His death record says he was a widower. The informant on that record was Herman Oja of Wawina. Was Herman a family member?
