Found this on the Grand Rapids Herald Review webpage when I did an obituary search. 3-9-2005 Douglas W. Wilcowski, 79, Douglas W. Wilcowski, 79, Deer River, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Beckys House, Deer River. He was born March 10, 1925 in Swatara. Doug served in the Navy aboard the USS Tulag. After he was discharged, he met and married Arlene Vandervort, whom he remained married to for 54 years. He owned and drove pulp truck for many years. He worked on the Deer River Police force for 18 years. After retirement from there, he worked as a cement finisher. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 275. Preceding him in death were his wife, Arlene Wilcowski; mother, Agnes Wilcowski and father, William Wilcowski; one brother, Delbert Wilcowski; and two sisters, Cherie Theisen and Marcella Wilcowski. He is survived by one brother, Donald, Whipholt; three daughters, Pam (Vern) Danielson, Coleraine, Jenetta (Roger Lien), Grand Rapids, Shawn Jarvis (Kelly Newman); 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Services: Visitation is Wednesday, March 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River. The service is Thursday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Deer River. Jeen: Thank you, thank you, thank you! It confirms her middle name for me, as well as her burial place. It is the correct birth date and father's name. Would it be possible that there is more information in the records used for the Itasca Cemetery book? CA: Court Administration/Recorders Office Vital Records? I assume at the court house or archives? Hi, I just checked in my cemetery books and located on pg 186 of the Itasca Cemetery book the following: Itasca Cemetery, Division D, Block 56 RUTTERER (NM meaning no marker (CA: meaning Court Administration/Recorders Office Vital Records) 1 Jennie (CA: Harriet Jane (CA: 24 Mar 1862 - 17 Mar 1907 d/o Benjamin Ellis d/o meaning daughter of Kind of odd out of 9 people listed in this block of the cemetery division 8 of them died in 1907. The Pine Ridge Cemetery is located in Deer River. I don't know if there are other cemeteries in Deer River or not.
