Hi Anne and Todd, My Dad's name is Richard (Dick) Peterson. I don't know how much information the school yearbooks would be, but he was on the football team if anyone had access to those - pictures would be great. At this point, I don't know what else I need to look for, but if there are people in the Excelsior area, I now have some contacts! All my Dad ever talked about was riding that roller coaster! I picked up the park history book a few years ago. My Dad enjoyed it. Thanks so much for your time. Alicia Does anyone have any reference material for Excelsior High School? My Dad (b. 1932; youngest of 8) and his family grew up a stone's throw from the amusement park (you can actually see their house in the ariel veiw of the Excelsior Amuesment Park) and I'd be interested in anything. Thanks! Alicia (in Ontario)
Hi Alicia, I went to Classmates.com and found a man who was in the graduating class of 1950 from Excelsior (it was in 1952 that Excelsior and Deephaven consolidated) so I'll contact him tomorrow by phone (he is living in Excelsior) to see if he has any information. I will ask him if he has computer access also. Do you have the names of your dad's siblings? I found a Warren Peterson who graduated in 1942. Do you have the exact date when your dad graduated from Excelsior? We have a Snuffy's restaurant near where I live that has some great photos on a wall which might have that football teams picture. I'll check it out and let you know. Regards, Anne in MN ************************************************** Hi Anne and Todd, My Dad's name is Richard (Dick) Peterson. Hi Anne, I don't seem to have Dad's graduating year anywhere - I need to find it. I believe he graduated in 1950/1951. Class of '50 would make him 18 in the spring - that's probably right. Dad's siblings were: Bill - I think Bill died young (9 years old or so) Gloria - b. abt 1922 so graduated 1940? Eugene (Bud) b. graduated 1939 Gordon b.1917 so graduated 1935? Wallace (Wally) b.1918 so graduated 1936? Kenneth b. 1916 so graduated 1934? Thanks! ----- Original Message ----- From: "AnnE Austin" <AnneRAustin@comcast.net> To: <mnhennep@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2007 12:45 AM Subject: Re: [MNHennep] Excelsior High > Hi Alicia, I went to Classmates.com and found a man who was in the > graduating class of 1950 from Excelsior (it was in 1952 that Excelsior > and Deephaven consolidated) so I'll contact him tomorrow by phone (he is > living in Excelsior) to see if he has any information. Hi Alicia, Thanks for the siblings' names. I called the man in Excelsior yesterday but had to leave my name and number on his answering machine. I'll let you know if and when I hear from him. If I don't hear, I'll make a trek to the high school to check out the yearbooks. Stay tuned.
