Hi Linda, Didn't find a Harriet Butler in the 1886 Minneapolis City Directory. There's an HC Butler, mnfg of of mill picks, 249 6th Ave S., r. 8th cor 16th av S. Possibly her father? Etta is sometimes a nickname for Harriett, but there wasn't an Etta listed either. I can send you the page with all the Butlers if you'd like it. That would be great. She is also listed as "Hattie" in another census. The daughter was born either in 1883 or 1886 in Minn., and she had a son, Laurence, born 22 Apr 1909 in Minneapolis...shows her husband as Joseph Butler. What are the chances of marrying someone with your own maiden name? What I can't find also, is the birth certificate for Laurence in 1909. I would like the page of all the Butlers from that Directory if you would be so kind.
