Just to stir the pot, I have an relative who married into a Godfrey family that lived in Osceola, WI (on the Minnesota-Wisconsin border) and presumably connected to the Godfrey's in Minneapolis. They came from Sackville, Halifax County, NS. The person we are linked too is John Sibley Godfrey who was born 16 Dec 1809 and was a very early settler at Osceola (ca 1844). His daughter Katie Godfrey married Joseph Brown, a lumber cruiser and Great Lakes seaman. Katie was born in Oseola in 1846. These people ended up in Houston, Texas where both died in the 1930s. Based on other parts of my family, there was a lot of back and forth between Maine and Nova Scotia and New Brunswick as well.
