Patrick, You may want to research the early records of Church of St. Peter at Mendota (Mendota Heights) for those baptisms. Mass was first said there by Rev.L.Galtier in 1840. He was succeeded in 1844 by Rev.Augustine Ravoux, a missionary among the nomadic Sioux of Minnesota. He resided at St. Peter's until 1857. The St. Peter church records have been filmed by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and are available for research at their Archives. See <www.archspm.org> for more information. There is a charge for research time, but unless these records can be located elsewhere, this may be the only way to locate the information you need. St. Peter's records are on Film Numbers 334 and 335. These include baptisms for Faribault and other distant places, so it's possible they contain events recorded at Traverse des Sioux. Karen Whitmer
