    3. I have a great uncle who served in World War One. The family lost track of him after Dec.1947. I have the place and year of induction and the mustering out dates and places. However the NARA people wrote back that his record could not be found. I did notice that the info I sent NARA was typed by them on the form they returned to me an obvious transcription of what I origianlly sent them. They however had a typo error as they had typed in his birth date as Nov. 11, 2018! My date was Nov. 11, 1898. Someone on one of the lists I belong to in the past had narrated the problme he had getting military records and how he resolved that problem..if he still is on the list could he resend his experience? If you can find a military ID number can a person be tracked without a surname? As amilitary veteran of Worlk War One would he have gotten a small pension? Family history whispers that this gu may have changed his surname. I believe he probably died in the state areas of MN, WI, IO, ILL and most probably in the VA hospital in MIlwaukee. But not having a death date or surname is posing a problem. Any and all suggestions on how to resolve this will be gratefully accepted. TIA Diane __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
