Have been following the discussion of babies that might have been given away. Worked on something like this for a relative. I had success spending time learning all I could about the relatives of each parents. Sometimes these babies were given to an aunt/uncle on either side to raise. Then don't forget close friends. If this was a doctor that did this as a side business, it might go further. Check the newspapers that might have recorded the births in a particular hospital. Get death records of each of these adult relatives, obits, records of the birth's and baptisms of each of their children....... might prove helpful. Newspaper articles, especially in smaller towns, of possible adoption of a child; showers for a mother-especially after the child was born might be a clue. Put together a timeline/history of each of these families....... Don't leave any stone unturned. Don't get stuck with the oral history of any of these families. Get proof. Check probate records for each of these adult relatives--guardianship records or other court documents for each of these adult relatives......... Good Luck Susanne
