    3. Save it for me if it isn't gone yet. Please. I'll donate it to the Hopkins Historical Society. George M. Burnes is written up in the newest book on Hopkins called "Through The Years", editor Beverly O. Ewing, Editor. There is also a Burnes Park in Hopkins. Let me know about shipping, etc. Thanks AnnE in Mtka MN ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Berens" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, October 13, 2003 2:56 PM Subject: [MNHENNEP] Burnes/Cameron/Baker/Dimond/Headley/Brown family book I picked up a book called "Remembering" by Clint & Dot Burnes published in 1987. It is a beautifully written book about growing up in Hennepin and Hopkins Countys, MN. It covers the Burnes, Headley, Diamon Family Trees along with Jonathan Elston: A Short Biography, one on George Montgomery Burnes and Benjamin Brown. There are many family pictures in this book. It is about 400 hundred pages. I am not related to any of these people. According to the back of the book a Benjamin Brown and family came to Minnesota from LA @ 1860. Also mentions there according to the author, " My Aunt Diana, Dad's sister, once told me we were descendants of the poet Robert Burns's family, that she had traced our family origin back to Scotland. I dont know what happened to her 1920 (?) research: at the time I wasnt particulary interested in family roots..............................that his family name was spelled both "Burnes" and "Burns".............probably descendants of one of a cousin's families of which there were several in the Glasgow area (if I remember corectly.)" There is also the Burnes's family tree chart and the Dimond Family tree chart. George M Burnes (1825-1870) married Amiia Cameron and comes forward (yes some John's) . George Baker married ? and hisfamily forward and his sister Mary Baker married Joseph Allen and her family forward. I hated the thought of this book being thrown away. If anyone has questions or would like to purchase this book please email me. I am asking $5.00 (what I paid for it) plus shipping. Carol
