I was working on a friends genealogy and found a source for the marriage record of her gr.gr. grandparents and to surprise her I sent away for it. When it came it contained no real information except the Bride and Grooms name and ages and county of residence. However, it turned out to be a handwritten letter from the Justice of the Peace saying he had performed the marriage. (this was to report it to the county). I framed it and gave it to her as it was a really nice keepsake. It was dated 1870.
