I am trying to locate information on Alexander C Stewart who came to Minneapolis about 1886-7 and left about 1903. I would like to know if he married, had any children, anything that anyone knows about him. He is my ggrandfather. He left his wife in 1885, a week after their marriage, to go out west to seek his fortune. He didn't know she was pregnant with my grandmother at the time. She never heard from him till 1903. Any help is appreciated. Margaret Smile and make people wonder what you have been up to. The bigger the smile, the more they will wonder. Margaret asked: > I am trying to locate information on Alexander C Stewart who came to > Minneapolis about 1886-7 and left about 1903. I found him in the Minneapolis city directory, as shown below, on ancestry.com. Alexander C Stewart laborer b Calhoun avenue w s Lake Calhoun Minneapolis MN 1890, 1891 Directories for these and other years are available on microfilm at the Minnesota Historical Society. You may also want to check their death index, if you think he died in MN after 1908. I also found him in the 1900 census images on genealogy.com on W. Lake Street, not far from Lake Calhoun. He's listed as Alexander C. Stewart, and as single, b. Nov 1840, age 59. The record is somewhat scribbled up, but I will send you the image in a separate email. Mary
