Hi Claudia, Pardon the previous email. I have of course found the bios I needed.[ PILLSBURY and SNYDER] What a terrific job. Thanks once again Marge
Good evevning Claudia, How would I go about securing copies of the bios on Mahala [Fisk] PILLSBURY and Mary [Ramsay] SNYDER? They are ancestors of my daughter-in-law, and I wish to include them in her family genealogy. Thank you Marge Perry On a warm balmy Southern California evening

Claudia- Will you be transcribing other years?? My Biological Grandfather Thomas James Hidley and my grandfather Harold T Nolden would have possibly gone there in later years, Thomas Hidley was born in 1900 and Harold Nolden in 1908 so I would be interested in later years of transcribbing, Thanks, Melodee Slaney [email protected]
Melodee, The 1908 Central High School yearbook is the only one I have. I purchased it at a used book store. But I keep an eye out for them. I guess I should have mentioned that the Class of 1908 students and photos are listed under the "SCHOOLS IN HENNEPIN COUNTY" button on the Hennepin County site http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnhennep/school.htm The links are listed below the pictures of schools on that page. I have transcribed the names of the 1908 Senior Class of Minneapolis Central High school and posted them on the Hennepin County site. The interesting thing about the list of students is that their addresses are listed with their names. I've also scanned some of the pictures from the yearbook and posted those as well. If anyone has a problem with the pages, please let me know. Save it for me if it isn't gone yet. Please. I'll donate it to the Hopkins Historical Society. George M. Burnes is written up in the newest book on Hopkins called "Through The Years", editor Beverly O. Ewing, Editor. There is also a Burnes Park in Hopkins. It is a beautifully written book about growing up in Hennepin and Hopkins Countys, MN. It covers the Burnes, Headley, Diamon Family Trees along with Jonathan Elston: A Short Biography, one on George Montgomery Burnes and Benjamin Brown. There are many family pictures in this book. It is about 400 hundred pages. I am not related to any of these people. According to the back of the book a Benjamin Brown and family came to Minnesota from LA @ 1860. Also mentions there according to the author, " My Aunt Diana, Dad's sister, once told me we were descendants of the poet Robert Burns's family, that she had traced our family origin back to Scotland. I dont know what happened to her 1920 (?) research: at the time I wasnt particulary interested in family roots..............................that his family name was spelled both "Burnes" and "Burns".............probably descendants of one of a cousin's families of which there were several in the Glasgow area (if I remember corectly.)" There is also the Burnes's family tree chart and the Dimond Family tree chart. George M Burnes (1825-1870) married Amiia Cameron and comes forward (yes some John's) . George Baker married ? and hisfamily forward and his sister Mary Baker married Joseph Allen and her family forward. I hated the thought of this book being thrown away. Just to let everyone know that the burial records for Pioneers & Soldiers Cemetery, also known as Layman's Cemetery, located on Lake Street & Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis are being transcribed and the database will be online in the near future. I called Robert Jr. on the phone (after trying to get ahold of his dad who was listed in the phone book) and am going to send these emails to him. His mom's name was Mary. (I should have remembered that one). Good luck with your new connection. I would focus on trying to find out which one was Mrs. Semsch (few) in Hopkins rather than Mrs. Murphy in Chicago (prob. many). I would be inclined to try the Minneapolis City Directory for 1952 ..... I think it would include Hopkins residents, perhaps in separate section of Directory. I would obtain death certificates of mother and father .... perhaps the "informant" on one or both was one of the daughters and might have signed it with their given name. I would try 1952 Hopkins Telephone book. (as well as Mpls.) I would try to obtain marriage license for Semsch. Probably a dozen other paths ......
