For anyone interested in the Bohemian Flats in Minneapolis there are several photographs on the Minneapolis Public Library photo collections website at http://www.mplib.org/dbtw-wpd/phosrc.htm In the search box just type in "bohemian flats". There are 33 photos. Will you publish the years that the marriage records cover? In particular for Steele and Waseca counties. Thx Tom

soldier's home is close to my house adjacent to Minnehaha Park in MPLS- established after Civil War and still operating. Ms. McCoy's husband was probably a veteran and there is book with all MN Civil War guys with some info. You can search for Savage graveyards on Google; yet she might have been buried in Native site. The Mendota Mdewakanton might have some info too, and several folks from Grey Cloud Island belong to this group that has done so much recently. You can Google there too. And try Dakota County Historical Society too. The trail will get longer and more complicated and bring more agony and joy, if you will focus on history rather then iffy genealogy. Let me know where you live On Sun, 11 Jan 2004 16:52:24 EST [email protected] writes: > Hi Robert, I do have Rosalies death certificate from MHS, that`s > where I got > the info about Soldiers Home, Savage Area Cemetery, most the info I > sent on > the previous email to [email protected] Is Soldiers Home a > hospital or > what? Hi Robert, I do have Rosalies death certificate from MHS, that`s where I got the info about Soldiers Home, Savage Area Cemetery, most the info I sent on the previous email to [email protected] Is Soldiers Home a hospital or what? Thanks Patrick
The anticipated table of contents for the March 2004 issue of the Minnesota Genealogical Journal:31 is now on the net for your review. As usual, there will be 100 pages of records, many of which have not been published before. For example, it includes an index to delayed death certificates at the Minnesota Department of Health (these aren't in the on-line index); bios of Minnesotans who took the Matanuska Valley Challenge in Alaska, and divorce records from the Courts of Common Pleas in Ramsey and Hennepin County, the only counties to have these courts. The Courts existed for only a short time, in the 1870s. The records from Hennepin County have not yet fully been accessioned by the State Archives, but we've been able to extract the divorces from them. To see the full table of contents, see <http://www.parkbooks.com/Html/mgj_31.html> Information about the journal, including subscription and back issue rates, can be found at <http://www.parkbooks.com/Html/mgjbroch.html> Mary Mary Bakeman Park Genealogical Books, publishers of MN Genealogical Journal e-mail [email protected] WWW http://www.parkbooks.com/
I have a bit on McCoys. Do you have death certificate from MHS. I can think of other avenues and sources. Reviewing various newspapers of era on microfilm is time consuming, but MHS will do for a fee. Francis, Sr. and Jr. farmed at Grey Cloud Island. Sr. was about Camp Coldwater. Other McCoys about too. Soldiers Home might have something too. Regardless, if you get/have something more, I will help as best I can. Hi, Grayce, Have you checked out the Marriage Records from St. John the Baptist Church in Dayton? http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnhennep/daytonmarriages.htm I didn't look for your Derouins, but you might want to. My grandmother, Lydia Eck Manahan, was born in Dayton in 1877. Shirley
I've "rescued" an old photograph and Memorial Card both belonging to the BROWN Family. The photograph is of Libbie C. BROWN, taken at the J.A. Brush Studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The photograph was probably taken in the 1890's with Libbie appearing to be in her 30's or 40's at the time. The Memorial Card is in remembrance of Mattie BROWN who died January 16, 1890 at the age of 23 years, 5 months, and 11 days of age. There is no location listed on the Memorial Card. I'm hoping to locate someone from this BROWN family so that this items can be returned to the care of family. With limited research I do find a Libby BROWN age 21 (b. Ohio with parents b. NJ and PA) living in Minneapolis, MN during the 1880 census with her Sister and Brother-in-Law, Byron & Sarah SUTHERLAND. Including in the household are two of Sarah's children by a previous marriage, Frank & Lenny PECK (b. PA and MN) and Bryon & Sarah's own child Renne SUTHERLAND. Byron's Mother, Anna SUTHERLAND is also living with the family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Or must I read every page to find my people In 1915 I know they lived at 1603 Bryant Ave N I know these people were buried at Crystal Lake cemetery , so I am supposing they lived in that area? any help appreciated Jeannette
If you will join the census lookup list for Minnesota, someone will be happy to find the correct page and send it to you.... I don't have an index to the 1900 census or I would do it, but I know other people do have indexes....Just click on [email protected] and put subscribe in the subject and body of the message... When you get a reply, just put your request in the subject line as year/Name/county..then in the body of the email explain what you want and how much you know about them... --- F & J Sauntry <[email protected]> wrote: > I am looking at the Minnesota Hennepin census 1900. > If I wanted to find > some one without going page by page. List, I found a family of DEROUIN in 1870 census of Ancestry.com image # 7 of 15, Federal Census, MN, Hennepin, Dayton Jun 1870 line #4 visit # 90 family # 87 I suspect George, their son to be GG, my brick wall for 5 years searching. The birthdate for my George Edward Derouin is 1848 born Canada and this George is 1852/53, born Canada, so the date is 4 years off, common with genealogy, but I just wanted to find this family to verify his history connection or not to my GG. I will check the LDS and see if microfilm for Dayton, Hennepin County is listed. census DEROUIN, Jerry age 58 white male farm laborer and wife Amy ae 45, and other members are Emma 19 Mary 18 Alamanda 15 Angelina ? George 17 ( born 1852/53 ) Canada Severn 13 Frank 11 Henry 10 all the family born Canada. They are not found in 1880 census in US or 1881 Canada as far as I can see. 1880 Clearfield Co. Woodward Twp. PA, GG George Edward Derouin, born Canada 1847 / 48, wife Susan born PA, he died 1882, after death of Susann, leaving two orphan sons. There are no records in PA of BMD. I searched ancestry for each member of the Jerry Derouin family, but have not found them. How could they not be in 1880 census? Any suggestions would be welcome, I contacted the Hist Soc. in Sherbourn?. Thank you so much, Grayce
