Sorry, I just sent this request in and put the wrong last name. It's not Brazil, the correct last name I believe is Butler when he was born, and later was adopted by a Michael Brazil. I'm hoping to get an Uncertified copy of his original birth certificate to get information on his parents in 1909. Thanks. lmcdermott@copper.net
How do I go about ordering a non-certified copy of the above birth certificate? I need the details of his mother's and father's information. Thank you. lmcdermott@copper.net
Tor, I looked in the 1882-1886 Minneapolis directories for Louise Graven and found that she was not listed. However, I went a step further and looked for her under the surname that her siblings took, Larson. Here is what I found: 1882-83 no listing 1883-84 Larson, L Miss clk Dickinson's Bazaar r 244 25th Av S 1884-85 Larson L Miss Bemis Bro & Co b 24th Av S bet 21 & 22nd 1885-86 Larson, Louisa seamstress 818 20th Av S and Larson, Louise Miss boarders 225 12th Av S Obviously, this doesn't make it possible for you to know if this is really her but perhaps the information will provide a lead for you. Hi Margie, I'm going to the history center this week - I'll look at the 1969 directory directory there to see if I find the folks listed below. I'll email you with information about those I find. I am looking for descendants of Jennie Hansen and Michael Henry who died around 1910/1912. They had a daughter Marion who would have been about 2 years old at that time. They were on the 1910 Census living in Crystal /Robbinsdale. Any help would be appreciated. Margie-WA
I am looking for the marriage date of Robert J. Williams to Marie Clare Sheppard in Minneapolis sometime between 1954 and 1956. If anyone on this list can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Mary Jane Dallas, TX
Could I get a lookup for a marriage license for 1908 for Harriet (Hattie) Butler and Joseph Butler. Also, could you please check the birth record for Laurence Butler (born 22 April 1909) in Hennepin in 1909. I know it sounds weird, but Hattie may have married a Butler. Her mother Harriet Minard married a Henry Butler. Thanks so much.
I searched through the census records on Ancestry.com to look for Louise Graven. I did not find anything under that name. If she got married at some point, however, she would have changed her name. Here is a possibility from 1900 census records for Minneapolis, Hennepin County: 1900 (Ward 3, Minneapolis: 624 Upton Avenue N) John E. Drevs (or Drews), born March 1854 Denmark, immigrated 1882 Louisa Drevs (or Drews), born February 1856 Norway, immigrated 1880. The record shows her parents were born in Norway. The record also says she had been married 10 years and did not have any children. I did find a Louisa (Louise) Drevs in the 1910 and 1920 censuses, but these entries may be for a different person since (1) the husband in 1910 is Carl, (2) her mother was born in Denmark and (3) the immigration year - which is different in each record - is not 1880. 1910 (Ward 3, Minneapolis, Hennepin County) Carl Drevs, age 58, born Denmark, immigrated 1885 Louisa P. Drevs, age 53, born in Norway. Father born in Norway, mother born in Denmark. She is shown as having immigrated in 1887. They had been married 20 years, no children. 1920 (Ward 12, Minneapolis, Hennepin County) Louise P. Drews, age 63, widow, born in Norway. The record shows an immigration year of 1885 and shows her father was born in Norway and her mother was born in Denmark Possibly someone who has access to more Minneapolis records could look further to see if the Louisa Drevs in the 1900 census might be your Louise Graven. Best regards Paul
Tor, I am a volunteer for city directory look-ups in Hennepin County. I would be happy to look in the 1880-1885 city directories for her whereabouts. I'll be headed to the history center this week and will report back to you what I find. Regards, Patricia Strot Forest Lake, MN Tor Graven <graven16@online.no> wrote: Hello list! I have an ancestry subscription and I put your Louise Graven into the search engine but the three that I turned up would not fit your great-aunt as they were born either much earlier than her approx. birth date of 1857, if she was 23 when she immigrated to the USA. I did find Ole Larson in 1880 in Dunnsville, Dunn County, Wisconsin but couldn't find her there. I also was unable to find her on any ships' list. Sincerely, Pat Palmer in Oregon, USA
Since she is deceased, perhaps consider adding her to FindAGrave and uploading a picture there. http://www.findagrave.com/index.html You can also upload pictures on the Message Boards. http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.minnesota.counties.hennepin/mb.ashx Others here may have additional suggestions.
