    1. [MNHennep] record ofa zeppenfield
    2. Melinda Kohler , Kerri and Paula Kohler-Saunders
    3. I am wondering if someone can help me locate a record online. Several years ago when I was trying to locate my Zeppenfield ancestry I came across an entry for a Zeppenfield online who had received a letter from a president thanking him for his services. Several months ago I made contact with one of his grandchildren who said that they had felt he had a penchant for tall tales and that when he died were amazed to find a letter in an attic from a president thanking him for his services to the Pony Express. They had felt thought the pony express was not in existence during his time and that his mention of it was one of his tall tales. I have looked to try and find again where this was mentioned but have not been able to locate the record. Any help appreciated. Many Thanks Melinda

    3. Thanks, Patricia. I've checked RCHS and they have nothing on him, but I'm trying to check out some other sources. I'll be out in the Twin Cities at Christmas time, and I'm thinking a library visit may be on the program! Joanne Gaudio

    3. You may have done this already also but - did you search the library catalog at the www.mnhs.org site? Also you could check the Minneapolis Public library catalog also. If you found a book on the subject, those libraries may be a part of the interlibrary loan system, If you need a city directory look_up for the addresses or perhaps an ad in the directory for that business during whatever 10 year span you need, let me know. I do volunteer look_ups for the Hennepin County on rootsweb. Patricia Strot ----- Original Message ---- From: Joanne Gaudio <jgaudio@charter.net> Subject: Re: [MNHennep] D. C. 1. [MNHennep] D. C. Bennett, Architects in Minneapolis
    2. Joanne Gaudio
    3. I'm looking for information on the D. C. Bennett firm of architects which was in business in Minneapolis in the teens, 1920s, and perhaps 30s. It was founded by Daniel C. Bennett (1869-1935). He was building houses in Saint Paul as early as 1914, and he built a lovely home on Lake Harriet Parkway in 1923. (featured on a recent Minneapolis Real Estate Blog) I'm working on a house history for my son, who lives in a 1915 Bennett bungalow, and I'd like to find a bit more history on the business. Does anyone know anything? Or know where I could research a now non-existant business? I don't live in the Twin Cities, but I'll be there later in the year, and I could go to a library if anyone can tell me what to look for! Thanks. Joanne Gaudio

    1. [MNHennep] CHAPMAN Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of E. G. CHAPMAN which was taken at the Jacoby Studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Mr. CHAPMAN likely in his 30's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I believe that this is a photograph of Edwin Garner CHAPMAN the son of Alexander Hamilton CHAPMAN and Lorinda MCWHINNEY. The couple had 7 children including: Ida Lorinda CHAPMAN Wilbur CHAPMAN Edwin Garner CHAPMAN Anna Mary CHAPMAN Jessie CHAPMAN Luella CHAPMAN Charles Ratchford CHAPMAN Edwin G. CHAPMAN married Jeanie "Jenny" Hadley HUDDLESTON on 30 May 1883. I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Arthur was born in Minnesota, Carolina in Iowa. There is a Social Security death record for Arthur Tetzlaff born 12 Feb 1896, died Jun 1973 last residence Cudahy, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There is a WWI draft record for Arthur A Tetzlaff born 12 Feb 1896, birthplace Wisconsin, with Milwaukee County Wisconsin as the registration place. Listed as single. There is also a WWI draft record for Arthur Tetzlaff born 5 May 1896, birthplace Minnesota, registration place Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was single in June 5, 1917 The 1920 Census shows a Arthur Tetzlaff with wife Henrieta in Cudahy, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. I believe Arthur and Carolina may have been married about 1919. ----- Original Message ----- From: "AdaMarie" <lesada1@msn.com> To: <MNHENNEP@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 15, 2007 11:26 AM Subject: [MNHennep] MNHENNEP-L- Kehr/Tetzlaff >I am looking for Carolina Kehr 15 Dec 1893-31 Aug 1987 married 11 Aug 1946 >Arthur Tetzlaff in Hudson WI. 3. This is a resend...I didn't get a reply from the first request. Thanks. - Could you look up Laurence Butler in the Minneapolis city directories from 1908 on to about 1914? He was born in Minneapolis, according to his marriage license, 22 April 1909, to Harriet and Joseph Butler. I got "Hattie" and Joseph off the 1910 census. And if you do find something, I could sure use more information on Joseph. I appreciate your time and effort very much. 1. [MNHennep] PAULY - OPITZ Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Elizabeth PAULY OPITZ of Minneapolis, Minnesota which was taken at the Miller Studio in Minneapolis, MN. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Elizabeth appearing to be in her 50's or 60's at the time it was taken. In addition to her name and location, someone has also written "Aunt" on the back of the photograph. Thanks to the assistance of an OPITZ Family Researcher I was able to gather the following additional information regarding Elizabeth and her family. Elizabeth's maiden name was likely either PAULI or PAULY and her first name likely originally spelled Erzebet which is the Hungarian form of Elizabeth. Elizabeth married Michael OPITZ Jr. having both been immagrants from Hungary. They married in MN and resided for a time in St. Paul among a large community of Austro-Hungarians. They later moved to the town of Collegeville, MN and had at least one child, a son Martin OPITZ who married Elizabth MICHLITSCH and later homesteaded in Nutley Township, Day County, SD. They had two children, Albert and Edith Elizabeth OPITZ. Albert married and raised a family in Minneapolis, MN. I am hoping to locate someone from her family so that is wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or if you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
