I found his parents in the 1955 Minneapolis Telephone Directory, still living at 1828 Mt. Curve Avenue. If the yearbooks aren't available at the history center I may be able to look for additional resources (Hennepin Cty History Center or the library). ciao for now, Patricia ----- Original Message ---- From: Claudia Schuman <schumanc@comcast.net> To: mnhennep@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2008 10:25:11 PM Subject: Re: [MNHennep] Fw: Albert C. 3. Dear Melodee, You say that this marriage record has been your "brick wall" for years. Please tell the list members what you have already done to find the marriage record, and maybe we will be able to offer some suggestions for further research. The obvious is - have you tried to order the marriage record from the Hennepin County Vital Records office in Minneapolis? If so, what was the response to your request? I have used the Hennepin County records for over 35 years, and find them quite complete, if not always "exactly accurate". The only index for these records is held by the Vital Records Office in Hennepin County. There are no on-line indexes or printed indexes available, at least not to my knowledge. Also, if you have requested the record from Hennepin County, and received a negative response - have you provided them with all of the variants in names? Please let us know all of what you have tried, and I am sure that someone on the list will have further suggestions for you. All the best in your searching, Jim Sazevich, Historian St. Paul, Minnesota mnhennep-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Message: 1 > Date: Mon, 21 Jan 2008 10:19:47 EST > From: Melnsam123@aol.com > Subject: [MNHennep] Still looking mfor the marriage of Harriet M Young > and Albion Deckard Arnold > To: MNHENNEP-L@rootsweb.com > Message-ID: <cd8.21c21587.34c61213@aol.com> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" > > Hello List, I am still looking( searching ) for a marriage application, > license and certificate for these my ancestors, Name of Bride: Harriet may > Young( may have gone by Ruby Young name of Groom: Deckard Arnold or Albion > Arnold, 1910 , Census Year in 1910 states it was first marriage no children and > married 2 years so the marriage had to be in 1908, i am hoping someone would > be able to help me find this marriage, its been my brick wall for years, > Melodee >

    3. I am trying to locate a death notice or obituary for William Albert Reynolds who died sometime after 1956. He had lived at 4212 Salem Ave, Minneapolis on April 19, 1956 - the last letter I have from him. His wife was Mabel Thyng. Your help with this will be greatly appreciated and may just help me through my "brick wall", against which I have been knocking for 15 years. I would also like to know if a death notice appeared for his son William "Bill" Chesley Reynolds who died in Camarillo, CA around July 10, 2003. 1. Re: [MNHennep] 1930 Census - Zawaski
    2. Barb: Possible reasons you aren't finding her: 1. she married & changed her name 2. the spelling of her name was mangled in the index you're checking, so your spelling isn't finding it 3. she isn't in the 1930 census because she moved and/or was missed Also: have you tried listings for any family and/or friends with whom she might have lived in 1930? Good luck Kate On Jan 6 2008, Barb Pardol wrote: > I'm trying to find my paternal aunt, Frances Zawaski (aka Zawadzka) in > the 1930 census. 1. Re: [MNHennep] Andreas 1874 Atlas index
    2. Mary Bakeman
    3. The index that was published in the atlas and sold on the other sites listed here is only a partial atlas. The one I prepared for Park Genealogical Books includes all the people listed on the maps, the patrons directories (with all the info there), those named in office windows on the illustrations, etc. as well as the alternative references when the names don't agree (not as much of a problem in Hennepin County as it is in those with many Norwegian settlers). And the best part for index users, it's all in one listing. The Andreas is my very favorite book -- it's the first atlas published in the U.S. that used colored lithos, a new technology at the time. 1. [MNHennep] Gustafson Family - Powell
    2. Bart Hansen
    3. I am looking for descendants of Gustaf Adel (Adolph) and Elin (Ellen) Gustafson of Minneapolis. Adolph Gustafson worked for many years at Washburn Crosby Flour and died in 1950. His wife died in 1939. Their three children were Ingrid (1890-?), Helen (1901-1985), and Eskel (1893-1964). Eskel's wife was called Luella and their children included Richard and Edward. Helen I believe married Charles E. Powell, a pharmacist, who died in 1956. Adolph and Ellen Gustafson came from Sweden to Hastings, MN, around 1888 and to Minneapolis in 1902. They lived for many years at 3308 34th Avenue South at least up to WWII.
