    1. [MNHENNEP] Re: [NO-DAK] Looking for Laramie/Laramee/Laramey/ect.
    2. Hi Kaye, 1860 MN Census for Nicollet County, Traverse Township (near the Minnesota River north of Mankato) Louis Laramie married Tatodoota/Tateduta/Red Wind/Mary Red Iron by Father Augustine Ravoux around 1842 Mendota, MN. Mary was Sisseton/Wahpeton Indian (two of the seven Santee Tribes (Eastern Sioux) of MN) Children were Rosalie, Josephine Allaine, Louisa, Edward, and Narcisse McNeal (all marked as Indian on 1860 census records) Rosalie is my greatgreat grandmother whose records I have and her sister Louisa`s records. I going after Edward right now. After the Sisseton and Wahpeton were put on there reservation on the ND/SD/MN border Edward became a Indian Scout at Fort Wadsworth which was torn down and put back up three times between the three state borders, ending up near Sisseton, then renamed Fort Sisseton. That`s the last record I`ve got on Edward. Rosalie died in the Twin Cities and Louisa in Nicollet County, don`t know if the other kids went with the Indians or stayed in MN. Thanks Patrick

    3. I am new to this list. This Native stuff is very hard work. Red Iron was alive at hangings, so you might follow his trail. And names should be on rolls for various distributions for $$ Natives got cheated out of. Do you have marriage certificate from Mendota? St. Peter's Church and/or Mendota Mdewakanton might be able to help with this. If you can send me more, I can probably direct you to other places/sources/people. John and William L. Laramy patented land in Moody Co, SD in 1881. Happy Historical Trails, Robert P. Mosedale Bloodhound Research, P. A. [email protected]

    3. MHS has a card index to check with death from about 1900 to 1908, and you can get gm death certificate and check obits while there too. If gf was buried at Pioneer Cemetery in MPLS, you can go there and check too; or trey contacting the wonderful volunteer at [email protected] Herman J. Henneman was pioneer at Lester Prairie. And there might be probate records, etc. The more you dig, the more you will find - probably in City Indexes at HCHM. Happy Historical Trails, Robert P. Mosedale Bloodhound Research, P. A. 3. Iris, I have the 1902 Minneapolis City Directory and there's a Charles C. Henneman listed as, "Meats, 2501 24th Ave South. and 502 E 24th St. r. 2915 26th Ave S" So, if that sounds familiar, then he was still alive in 1902. I also have "Deaths Recorded in the Minneapolis City Directories, 1901-1910", but I didn't find Charles, or any Henneman/Hinneman/Hanneman or anything close in there either. Maybe he was missed. I'm assuming you checked the MN Death indexes online? http://www.mnhs.org/ Those deaths start at 1908. We have volunteers on the Hennepin site who will do city directory lookups at the History Center in St. Paul. Please check under the LOOKUPS HERE link on the Hennepin county site -- http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnhennep/ Hopefully, in one of the directories it will list his death. Good Luck! 3. Seeking any information on William Douglas Knox who married Mary Elizabeth Tallman in Winnipeg Manitoba 10 May 1913. Attended the University of Manitoba in Civil Engineering c1912. Also looking for a cemetery transcription for William Douglas Knox born 22 May 1890 Minneapolis Minnesota. His parents were William Robert Knox and Isabella Sophia Knox. He had a sister Florence Knox. Are there any city directories that someone could look up to see if William Douglas lived in the area from 1921 on? Any leads would be appreciated. 3. Hello List, I've added a new page to the Hennepin site, which I hope you'll find useful, and will contribute as well. I've added a page called "Genealogy, Lost & Found". A page to list items you might have found relating to Hennepin County families at flea markets, garage sales, Antique stores, estate sales etc? Reunite families with mementos such as books, deeds, letters, bibles, certificates, scrapbooks, and other related family memorabilia. Submit the items on this page which have been found, or post your own lost "Wish lists". Take a look. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnhennep/wanted.htm Hope it's success for all of us! 1. Re: [MNHENNEP] Ween
    2. Erik Have you checked the Minnesota Death Index for these folks? It would give you date of death, where they were born, and mother's maiden name in most cases since they were fairly recent. Do you know where they are buried? If so you might get some information by contacting the cemetery. Due to privacy laws they may not be able to give you alot of information since the deaths are so recent. But I have found that it depends on the cemetery. If they can tell you the name of the mortuary that handled the arrangements then you might locate what church they were affiliated with, and contact the church for assistance. But confidentiality laws are quite strict so finding information on living relatives is extremely difficult. You might do a white pages search, using the internet, and look for families with this last name that are in the Mineapolis area and then write them personal letters asking if they are related to the people you are researching. The Minneapolis-St Paul metropolitan area is approximately 2 million people so you might find a few folks with the last name you are researching. You would need to explain your relationship and maybe even provide proof as people are getting pretty wary of such things due to all the identity theft and all. Also, at the GenWeb site there are people who will do obituary look-ups. The obituary would give you some helpful information as well. Jo
