    3. I can provide web space for any county that wants it - free, no ads Your URL would be like http://theusgenweb.org/mn/(your county name here) For example, my Los Angeles County web site is here: http://theusgenweb.org/ca/losangeles/ On Thursday, April 2, 2015 11:19 AM, Kathy Hines via <[email protected]> wrote: If you select a new hosting place in the next couple of days, please let me know which one you picked and why.  I will probably follow in short order.  One of the things I enjoyed about rootsweb for so long was that it was an “ad free” zone.  I’m going to “vote with my feet." It now contains a search box for ancestry. Personally I think this will hurt as there are many people who don’t like ancestry.com, they charge too much, etc. It was one thing we acknowledge they give us free hosting, it’s another where we now are a portal for their site. This search box heading is not on my other rootsweb sites (yet), just Minnesota. At this time a disclaimer on outside links on our websites is a recommendation, maybe with this blatant search box that should change. > Mike > Clay Co > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Thanks Joy That is where all my other sites are located and I was hoping there still was space to move the Nobles County site to theusgenweb.org. Mike This is the answer to your question. All of my Louisiana GenWeb sites are on theusgenweb.org and if I had to leave as CC, any person approved by the State Coordinator and replacing me will be provided access to the site for updating, etc. I have never had any problems with the host or managing the web sites. I am also the State File Manager for the Louisiana Archives and all of our archives are on usgwarchives.net which is also hosted by theusgenweb.org.
