Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/iIB.2ACI/848.2 Message Board Post: Joshua Davis Yarnell Obituary Joshua David Yarnell was born March 6th, 1868 at Dover Hill, Indiana, the son of James and Lettice Yarnell, and a member of a family of eight children. His boyhood and young manhood were spent on this father's farm near Dover Hill. When he was 21 he left home going into Illinois to work. He married Bessie Arnold on December 23, 1891 at St. Joseph, Illinois. For some years they lived in Illinois and Indiana and then in 1896 moved to a farm near Eagle Grove, Iowa; from here they moved in 1906, to a farm near St. James, Minnesota. In Sept. 1921 they moved to Blue Earth where they have since resided. To the union six children were born, one of whom died in infancy. The other five with the mother are left to mourn the loss of a beloved husband and father. The children are: Mrs. Bertha Peterson of Butterfield, MN; Chester E. Yarnell of Emmett, Idaho; Mrs. Meyrtle Theobald of Goldfield, Iowa; Charles A. Yarnell and Mrs. Letha Perrine of Blue Earth, MN The other relatives left to mourn his loss are two brothers W.S. Yarnell of Roswell, N.M.; and E.D. Yarnell of Loogootee, Indiana, and one sister. Mrs. Letha Ann Hotz of Loogootee, Indiana; also fourteen grandchildren. At the age of seventeen the deceased confessed his faith in the Lord and was united with the Church of Christ of Dover Hill, Indiana, and lived in the faith until his death. The funeral will be held this Thursday afternoon from his late home at two o'clock, and 2:30 at the Baptist church, and the burial will take place at Riverside, Rev. D.D.
