Daniel Clayton settled there around 1870 having arrived from Farmington, New York. He raised a family consisting of wife Mary, Mary's mother Mary Hurlbert, sons and daughters Hinckley, William, Lafayette, Mary, and Louis. Any information about this family will be greatly appreciated. They were churchgoing Catholics but it is unknown where they would have worshipped in those days.
