Her name was Karen Barner and they were married in Freeborn County. I thought they had lost a child in 1874 but just recently found out they had a daughter, Laura Fredrikke, born in 1872. Karen died in 1874. I have been searching for Anders and Laura for about 5 years and now suddenly have a lot of information. Karen's brother, Mads Peter Barner, was my grandfather and he emigrated in 1877. His daughter, Laura (another Laura) married Mads Peter Rikard Strandskov. I hope you are still checking your messages and you might be able to offer up more information on Mette's birthplace and families. Barbara
