    3. Northfield is in Rice County, Minnesota. The city of Faribault is the county seat, but actually a far ways from the county of Faribault. Rice County has a couple of nice museums with good genealogy records. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, March 07, 2006 3:06 PM Subject: [MNFARIBA-L] Allen Bush of Iowa > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Bush, VanSlyke > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iIB.2ACI/937 > > Message Board Post: > > Looking for information about a great-uncle Allen A. Then you want Rice and Steele Counties. Be careful when researching southern Minnesota. The city of Faribault is in Rice County (not Faribault County)and the city of Blue Earth is in Faribault County (not Blue Earth County). John Dalby did a lot of cemetery walking around Steele and Rice counties and started a web site for the cemetery readings. Then he got cemtery readings from the MN Genealogy Society and added those to his site too. Now you can find a lot of info on that site - though not all of its really his: http://www.dalbydata.com/user.php?action=cemsearch
