Sweet in Prescott Twp of Faribault County with a wife Harriett - note in parentheses says Alvin B. Sweet. (A submitted update or correction?) Also a Harriet Sweet is on the 1990 census in Freeborn County - she seems to be about the right age. It is possible that death records exist for some of these, but in a neighboring county. I don't have a current subscription so I can't see the census detail through Ancestry.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iIB.2ACI/948.2 Message Board Post: Shirley, I was in Blue Earth to see my brother yesterday. On my trip down there, suddenly the name "A. B. Sweet" popped into my head, and since I had just a few minutes to stop at the county recorder's office, I did. Not much there to help you, however. A. B. Sweet is listed in the cemetery index file. He is supposedly buried in Rice Lake Cemetery, Lot 70, near Delavan, MN. However, no stone exists at present. The card had no other information (e.g. age, date of birth or death). So I tried the death records, and I can't find him in them anywhere! Then I also checked the cemetery index file for Harriet. She is listed as Harriet M. Sweet, buried Rice Lake Cemetery in Lot 70 (at Delavan), who died at age 74yrs, on Nov 11 1902. Strangely, no death record in the ledgers exists for her either! The cemetery index file also named a Catherine Sweet, died in 1869, and buried in West Verona Cemetery (which is now abandoned). The county death records only start in 1870, however, so of course I found no death record. Margaret Jenstad
