Moritz and Sarah Nauman were my great-great grandparents, and one of their 11 children was named Albert. I have only recently started researching the family history, so I don't have a lot of information, and am not sure if you are still looking given the age of this request. I am hoping to get together with my grandfather Ronald Nauman (grandson on Moritz and Sarah, child of Claude Nauman) to see how much of the info I have he can verify. Author: jhintz1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.minnesota.counties.faribault/1579.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Minnesota Place Names posted on the MN Historical Society site (mnhs.org) has a brief note: Faribault County CLAYTON, a village in Seely Township, section 4. The post office, 1860-99, began with David Pratt as postmaster and was locally called Prattsville. As the businesses diminished, buildings were moved to Bricelyn, and only the cemetery remained in 1977. Someone with a Faribault County history may be able to expand on that information. I believe there is a connection to my forbears, Daniel and Mary Clayton, who settled in Faribault County sometime before 1870, and who came there from Farmington, New York during that era. Does anyone have any knowledge of this family or of the origins of the village of Clayton. The only vestige of that village today is the Clayton Cemetery where I believe my ancestors are buried. I'd appreciate any information as I am putting together a family history. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I descend from John Joseph Pauly (1800 to ~1885) and Apollonia (Wurz) Pauly (1822 to ?), who moved to Barber Township from Johnsburg, Fond du Lac Co., WI prior to 1865. My g-g-grandmother is their daughter Margaret. Her marker at St. Mary Cemetery indicates she was born 5/5/1848, but baptismal record from WI indicates her sister Ann Margaret Pauly was born in Aug 1848, so both cannot be born in 1848. Also there is an Anton Pauly in this family with baptismal record in WI, but he does not appear in 1865 or 1875 MN State census with the Pauly family.
