Niederkorn, 69 Died July 20; Last Rites Tuesday Mrs. Joseph J. (Ruth Ann) Niederkorn, 69, of 121 E. 11th St., a life long, resident of Hastings, succumbed July 20, at the Regina Memorial hospital, following a lingering illness. Born in Hastings, Sept. 17. 1899, she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret McDermott Stevens. She attended the Guardian Angels school, completing her education at the Hastings High. Seot, 1, 1920, she was united in marriage with Joseph J. Niederkorn, the ceremony being held in the Guardian Angels church.. They established their home in Hastings, residing here ever since. Born to their union were three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Jean) Henry of W. St. Paul, Mrs. George (Janet) Mountin of Bloomington, Mrs. Thomas (Jeralyn) Schmotter, ST. Croix Beach; four sons, Richard of Hastings, Jay of St. Paul, Paul of Cleveland Ohio and Dennis of River Falls, and they with their father, are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. Other close relatives surviving are two brothers, Ray Stevens of Hastings, John Stevens of St. Paul and 24 grandchildren. Mrs. Niederkorn was a member of the Rosary Society of the Guardian Angels church, and also of St. Mary’s. The former group recited the Rosary at the Ellis Funeral Home Monday at 4:00p.m., where a visitation was held from 2:00p.m. The funeral service was conducted Tuesday morning at ten o’clock in the Guardian Angels church, with Rev. Father Stitts officiating. Jeanne Leifield chanted the Requiem. Serving as pallbearers were Earl Henry, Steven Mountin, Chris Mountin, Gerald Henry, Tom Schmotter, and George Mountin. Members of St. Mary’s Honorary pallbearers, Angeline Hiniker, Martha Yanz, Mrs. Frances Dummer, Mrs. James Rondeau, Mrs. Julia Conzemlius, and Mrs. Josephine Hoeschen. Internment was made in the church cemetery.
