Marschall, Lifelong Resident Funeral services for the late Peter J. Marschall, 71, life long resident of this area were conducted in the church of St. Joseph at Miesville, Fri. Nov. 7, at 10 am. Fr. Geo Galles officiated at the Requiem high mass which was chanted by the children's choir. Serving as active pallbearers were 6 nephews, Marshall & Gerald Schall, George & Francis Marshall, Paul Doffing & Sylvester Wiederhold. Mr. Marschall was born Mar 9, 1887 & was one of 8 children in the family of the late George & Anna Kummer Marschall, early settlers of the Vermillion community. He was a trucker by trade & during his younger years also assisted at carpentry. Sept 29, 1930 M/M Marschall, nee Theresa Wiederholt, were united in marriage in St. Joseph's church at Miesville. Returning from their wedding trip they established their home in Miesville & have resided their since. Born to their union were a daughter Joan (David) Besser & a son Paul, living at home. A devoted husband & father, kind accommodating friend & neighbor, he will be greatly missed not only by his immediate family, but by the entire community in which he was so well & favorably known. He had been in failing health for quite some time & had been hospitalized, but the relief obtained was only temporary. He returned to his home & despite the loving care of his devoted wife, he passed away suddenly Tue, Nov. 4. Immediate family members surviving beside those already mentioned are 4 sisters Mary Marschall of Altadina, CA, Ann Schall, Kate (Gregory) Doffing, Margaret Marschall, of St. Paul, 3 brothers, A. G., & Joseph of Vermillion, Frank Marschall of Mpls. Mr. Marschall was a member of the St. John's Catholic Aid Society for many yrs. Hastings Gazette Fri Jun 18, 1926 Miss Theresa Wiederholdt of Miesville who has been sewing in St. Paul the past three years, left last Saturday night to spend the summer at Yellowstone Park.
