Posted on: Dakota Co. Mn Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Mn/Dakota/606 Surname: ------------------------- My original thinking was that the Philipp Becker was from Philippsheim, however, I am not so sure now, as I have not been able to establish a connection. Perhaps Werner Lichter or someone else in the Trier-Roots Mailing List maybe be of help. The name Becker is so common in the Rhineland and Luxembourg that one needs additional clues to be able to locate the proper individual. Bob
Posted on: Dakota Co. Mn Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mn/Dakota/605 Surname: Becker Brochman Weiland Thein Gotto ------------------------- Do you have any dates for the John Peter Becker you are looking for? My oldest relative is Phillippa Becker who married Margaretha Thein. Phillippa and Margaretha had twin sons: Eugene and Peter. Phillippa died just before the twins were born in 1861. Margaretha remarried a John Weiland and had several more children with him. Peter was also known as John Peter and he was married to a Mary Brochman. They settled in Dakota County. Peter and Mary had six children: Nicholas, Peter (born Clara City, MN in 1895), Joseph, Phillip, Mary and Elizabeth. I do not have any information further back then Phillippa. There is a New Trier Origins book that was put together by a Robert Olson from Hastings, Dakota Co., MN. There are several Beckers listed in there, but no concrete evidence that they were siblings. According to Bob's research the Beckers listed were all from Phillipsheim. I can send you more information to see if we have a connection. Thanks, Linda Becker
