This was posted in 2002. As far as I know, we are not related to the Girgens in Minnesota. My great grandfather was John Girgen and his wife's name was Elizabeth (Young) Girgen. They came over from Prussia which is what that part of Germany was called at that time. If you have any info that may help me, please let me know. I guess the "appreciation" evaporates as soon as the ink hits the board. In my case, I posted research findings - even so, got nary a word from her. Kenneth Carli Whitaker was born 10 January 1911 in Dakota county, Minnesota, mother maiden name Carli, so he is likely son of Mary Francis Carli and Clarence Royal Whitaker. Sources: Minnesota Historical Society births; Minnesota Official Marriage System online. Sister likely Althea Whitaker Einhaus. Other siblings...? 1940 census in Denmark, Washington County, MN, Kenneth w wife Rheama, sons Clarence and Gordon. Buried Leavitt Cemetery. Washington county, MN. Source:Find a Grave - which lists Kenneth date of death 30 May 1999. They (original posters) don't make it easy, do they?
